Classic French Crepes

Updated: Nov 4

I just love weekend breakfast with crepes!! These crepes are so soft, buttery, incredible delicious and so easy! And you can enjoy these delicious crepes whenever you please with whatever you please. Either is home made nutella, strawberries or chocolate spread, they are delicious and you can serve as breakfast or as dessert.

Servings: 6-8 crepes

Prep time: 10 min

Cook time: 15 min

Total time: 25 min

What you need

  • 300ml whole milk

  • 120g all-purpose flour

  • 2 eggs, at room temperature

  • 1 tbsp of melted butter or vegetable oil

  • 1/4 tsp of salt

  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract

  • 1-2 tbsp coconut sugar or brown sugar

  • For topping: chocolate cream, strawberries, banana etc.

What you do

  1. In a large bowl, mix the flour with the salt and in a separate bowl, whisk the eggs with milk and sugar.

  2. Add half of the liquid mixture to the flour, whisking until combined, add the rest of the milk, the melted butter and the vanilla extract and whisk again until smooth. You can also use a blender for this.

  3. Heat a nonstick skillet, at medium heat with a little bit of coconut oil. You can use a paper towel to wipe out the excess, to leave a thin coating behind. When the skillet is hot enough, pour 1/4 cup of batter, shaking it gently to allow the batter to coat the whole bottom of the skillet. Let it cook for about 30 seconds, or until you see the crepe browning around the edges. Use a rubber spatula to slowly loosen the crepe from the side of the skillet, slide it under it and flip it to the other side. Cook it for another 30 seconds and then take it to a clean plate.

  4. You will make 6-8 crepes, depending on the size. Once they are all done you can enjoy them with some chocolate spread, bananas and strawberries.
