Egg in a Bagel

Updated: Nov 11

One of the breakfast recipes I love the most is this one! It's simple to prepare, fast, only takes around 20 minutes to put together, and is packed with cheese, avocado, and a mix of salad greens, making it a fantastic brunch or breakfast option.

Servings: 2

Prep time: 10 min

Cook time: 5-8 min

Total time: 15-18 min

What you need

- 2 eggs

- 2 thin bagels

- cream cheese

- salad ( of your choice)

- 2 cheese slices

- 1 avocado

- 1 tomato or few cherry tomatoes

- salt, pepper, smoked paprika

- lemon juice for avocado

What you do

  1. Heat a pan with a lid over medium heat, apply cooking spray, and allow it to heat up.

  2. After separating the egg, pour the egg white into the center of the pan. Position the top half of the bagel on the egg white and carefully place the egg yolk into the hole of the bagel in the pan. Cover the pan with a lid to cook the egg yolk slightly. (If you prefer a runny yolk, cook the egg for about 5 minutes; for a firmer yolk, cook a bit longer).

  3. Once the egg is cooked to your liking, remove the bagel from the heat. Arrange the bottom of the bagel with your preferred vegetables, salmon, bacon, etc. Then, place the egg-topped bagel and serve!
